Chutree is a beautiful little project that has been waiting to happen all my life. As a little girl, growing up in India, I was always surrounded by the mesmerising and tempting smells & tastes of luscious chutneys cooking in our home kitchen. I was my mother’s chief taster – a job that I loved as you can imagine! So it was no surprise when I had my own family that I would continue this family tradition. For the past 25 years, we have had an annual cookout of homemade chutneys, some made with recipes over 50 years old. Over the years, friends and family have often suggested I take this passion of pure, homemade chutneys and treats further. So here it is, recipes that are inspired only by two things – nature and my own family’s recipes. I invite you to join us on this journey from the tree to the chutney, made with dollops of mum’s love. It is my little tribute to saving our heritage and the gems found in family recipes from getting forgotten & lost forever!
